the habit of gravity was made between may 1994 and january 1995. it was recorded at orchard studio in norval ontario, by dave ferri; brainlamp studio in ottawa ontario, by john switzer and james stephens; jane's house in toronto ontario by john switzer; mclear pathe recording studios in toronto by jeff wolpert; number nine in toronto by john switzer; and peter and rebecca's house in ottawa, by james stephens.
it was mixed at number nine by jim zolas, john switzer and fmw, assisted by dan leblanc.
running down the days was mixed at mclear pathe by jeff wolpert, john switzer and james stephens, assisted by victor florencia and denis tougas.
it was edited by scott murley and mastered by george graves at the lacquer channel in toronto.

grace under pressure was recorded at dieter and linda kiesewalter's cottage on farren lake in eastern ontario, december 12 to 19, 1993.
it was mixed at orchard studio in norval ontario, by john switzer, dave ferri and rebecca, february 14 to 18, 1994.
it was mastered by george graves at laquer channel in toronto.
all of the vocals were recorded a capella, as a group, to separate mics (except tracks 4 and 14).
all of the songs were arranged by rebecca.

these cottage sessions were recorded to adat (8 tracks) over the course of one beautiful december week on the eve of the brutal winter of 94. the ottawa valley shone golden and the frozen lake reflected the bright blue sky until, on the final day of the session, the snow finally fell.

if you hear the crackle and hum of a fire, that's the woodstove that kept us warm; if you hear the lazy pulse of a dog's breathing, that's the saintly wolfgang, who kept us calm.
